Therapy Technician

Location Avera McKennan Hospital; Regular work; Shift: Primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays (United States of America). Pay Range $18.00 - $23.50 per hour, actual pay dependent on experience. Schedule 8a-5p Monday‑Friday; Every 3rd weekend 7:30a‑4:30p; 1‑2 holidays per year. Job Overview Under the supervision of a therapist, provides support to therapy services, including preparing patients, clerical duties, patient transportation, and cleaning and maintaining equipment. What You Will Do Prepare therapy patients for therapy sessions. Collaborate with the nursing and therapy team to optimize therapy times. Assist with treatments as directed by therapists. Monitor patients during visits and notify therapists of any distress or concerns. Assist patients to wheelchairs or total lift chairs and transfer patients and equipment needed for therapy. Assist with transport back to a patient’s room if applicable. Monitor and clean therapy equipment, mats, etc., to ensure regulatory compliance. Assist with processing therapy orders, scheduling appointments, and completing documentation. Provide clerical support (e.g., answering phones, prior authorizations, patient registration, scheduling). Assist therapist in setting up equipment. Monitor and maintain working stock of equipment, linens, and supplies for therapy services. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity, effective communication, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Less than 1 year of patient‑care related experience.
