Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ER experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts scheduled 5:45am-6:15pm, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required outside of service line
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia management
• Experience with shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, CVA, and traumatic brain injury care
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and managing multisystem organ dysfunction

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including respiratory, psychiatric, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Pending license accepted at time of consideration
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during first week of assignment
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
