Details 12-hour night shift position (1900-0700) at a Level 3 Trauma hospital with 241 licensed beds Unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU Averages 4 to 6 patients per day with a focus on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines: 1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, and 1:3-4 couplets Weekend rotation is every other weekend on a 6-week schedule cycle Low census call possible, with call-back required up to 3am for nights and 3pm for days Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division) as needed within scope of practice Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, fetal monitors, and Philips newborn monitors Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP certifications required Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, including ability to work in LDRP setting Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area required, with most recent experience within the last year Skilled in labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op/PACU care, triage, newborn resuscitation, and Pitocin/epidural management Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration One professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required Additional Information Responsibilities include labor management, circulating cesarean sections, triage, newborn resuscitation, and Pitocin/epidural administration Unit support includes 24/7 charge nurse coverage, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage for newborn care Resource nurse support available when staffing allows Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation Holiday coverage requires working 75% of designated holidays Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract Hospital-issued green scrubs required Unit culture emphasizes teamwork First-time travelers will not be considered for this role Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible Previous perm employees of AHSE facilities must have been separated for at least 1 year before applying American Traveler Job ID P-746753.
