American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with Da Vinci Xi robotic and ENT experience for a Level 3 trauma acute care hospital OR position.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR unit with 22 suites (capable of expanding to 26) across 3 floors
• Level 3 trauma center averaging 50-65 cases per day
• Covers a wide range of service lines including GYN, Uro, Vascular, Plastic, Ortho (total hips/knees), Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General (Breast/HPB/Bariatric), Sports Med, Kidney/Kidney-Pancreatic transplants, and ENT
• ENT cases include FESS (sinus), septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, and soft tissue procedures (thyroid/parathyroid)
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for Gyn, Uro, and General cases
• EPIC EMR used
• 4x10 shifts with variable days (Mon-Fri) and start times (0630, 0900, or 1100)
• Start times remain consistent within the same week, with later starts on Tuesdays and Fridays for in-services and team meetings
• Call requirement of 1 shift per 4-week schedule, rotated between staff and travelers
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7am the next morning; weekend call is a 24-hour rotation (7am to 7am)
• Call response time is 30 minutes, with an on-site call room available
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of scrubbing experience required
• BLS certification required
• CST certification not required nationally, but must be registered with Washington State as a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Da Vinci Xi robotic experience required (Gyn, Uro, General)
• ENT experience required, including FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, and soft tissue procedures
• Active WA state license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Support a high-volume, high-complexity surgical caseload across 16 different service lines
• Physicians and OR team are described as helpful and willing to teach
• Unit orientation includes HR and OR leadership onboarding plus a 2-day scavenger hunt paired with a surgical tech
• Teal scrubs are provided
• Travelers should bring their own earphones for online orientation training during the first week
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers who have accepted the assignment tend to extend when possible
• No holiday call requirements
