Role Responsibilities Responsible for the standards-based instruction of students in Medical Assisting Responsible for the integration of the department's curriculum where appropriate and for the alignment of the CVTE state frameworks to the course. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned. You model persistence and growth mindset and thrive in a culture of feedback. Job Requirements Associate degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught. Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to medical assisting. Required Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Medical Assisting - Chapter 74 (or willingness to work towards). Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply. Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus. Current authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Advanced educational preparation. Curriculum development experience and knowledge of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks. Proficiency with technology (blended learning, teacher/family communication suites (Remind preferred), Google G‑Suite Apps, etc.) desirable. Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus. Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities. Demonstrated experience supporting English language Learners. Work Year Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185 day school year (180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days.
