Network Administrator I

Job Title

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Network Monitoring & Reporting & Maintenance

• Monitor wired and wireless networks for availability and performance.
• Document and escalate unusual activity or outages to senior staff.
• Perform firmware updates and basic device checks under supervision.
• Follow established SOPs for changes and maintenance.
• Generate and review basic network performance reports.

Client Support

• Provide first-level client support for event-related networking needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine connectivity issues.
• Escalate configuration or design-level issues to senior staff.

Qualifications

Education

Associates or better in Information Technology or related field.

Experience

Two years related experience and/or training in mid to large scale networking environments preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Flexible schedule: must work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and/or holidays. Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN) and other common network concepts. Exposure to routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems (coursework, labs, or entry-level work). Familiarity with device operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS, HPE ArubaOS). Through coursework or entry-level tasks

Experience supporting and monitoring network devices, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems through coursework or entry-level experience. Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems; exposure to VoIP systems (such as Asterisk).
