Job Description
The Restaurant Line Cook plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by expertly preparing and cooking menu items in a fast-paced, small kitchen team of 2-4 cooks. Reporting to the Head Chef, this position maintains high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation within fixed shift hours, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen. This role offers valuable growth opportunities including training for a Sous Chef position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Plate dishes attractively while ensuring portion control and consistency
- Maintain sanitation and food safety standards throughout the shift
- Perform quality control checks to uphold product and presentation excellence
- Collaborate effectively with a small kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Set up and organize cooking stations before and during service
- Minimize food waste through efficient preparation and inventory management
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of culinary preparation experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong knife skills and kitchen tool proficiency
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
