Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:

The Radiation Oncology RN - Outpatient is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient setting. This role involves coordinating treatment, managing patient needs, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy and chemotherapy according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment, record pertinent data, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health records, including Epic.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and proper badge management.

Qualifications:

• Possess 2-3 years of recent outpatient oncology nursing experience.
• Hold an active SC or multi-state compact RN license.
• Be certified in BLS; chemo certification or similar oncology credentials preferred.
• Have radiation badge training and demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system highly preferred.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, patient communication, and documentation skills.
