Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license in hand Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: PA lines experience, presurgical patients experience Description: This position involves working in a 12-bed observation unit. The unit serves a variety of patients within the heart and vascular service line. Patients may include low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in ICU or stepdown units. No ventilators, CRRT, or Impellas will be accepted on this unit. LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters will be accommodated. The unit also serves as an observation area for patients needing extended monitoring before discharge. This will be a fast-paced unit with a high volume of patient turnover. You will encounter a wide variety of patient diagnoses. This role will provide excellent learning opportunities related to cardiovascular procedures. It will help develop organizational skills and critical thinking. You will have the chance to enhance and fine-tune critical care and assessment skills. Upon starting, a rhythm identification test will be required. The test is proctored, and you will have two chances to pass. It is not a multiple-choice test.
