Athletic Trainer Position
Location: Ritenour High School
Qualifications: Missouri Athletic Training License is required. Bachelor's degree is required. Basic Life Support/CPR and AED certification is required. Master's degree is preferred.

Job Title: Athletic Trainer
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics and Activities provides positive impact on the lives of athletes through the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of sports related injuries
Reports To: Director of Athletics and Activities
Examples of Work Performed:
- Provide excellent care and treatment to athletes with sports related injuries
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine the extent and nature of injuries
- Develop and implement customized treatment plans for each athlete.
- Monitor and track progress of athletes throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention techniques and proper training methods
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to athletes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each athlete
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of athletes and staff
- Stay current on industry advancements and incorporate them into daily practice
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment for athletes and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions
- Continuously strive for excellence and quality care in all aspects of athletic training
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Regular attendance is required to provide continuity of athletic and activity programs as a part of the student curriculum.
- Requires independent travel to work sites outside the district.
- Read and interpret correspondence, reports, legal documents, etc. For administrative purposes; read published articles, documents, news releases, etc. for information to use and/or pass on to others.
- Demonstrates procedures and equipment to workers, administrators, citizens and others, and maintains written reports; provides written procedures for plan preparation and implementation; develops information for written reports and correspondence to officials inside and outside the district.
- Discusses programs with employees, administrators, and/or citizens; provides instruction to district employee; communicates with employees, citizens, supplies etc. via telephone; conducts individual or group meetings; provides oversight supervision and evaluation of assigned staff; communicates with employees, citizens, suppliers, etc. via telephone; provides district representation to groups inside and outside the district; discusses student assignments and behavior problems with others.
- Observes and evaluates employee performance; assesses the accomplishments of students and provides progress reports.

Physical Demands (Strength):
- Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Vocational Preparation (Experience):
- Experience in athletic and/or activities program at high school level required.
Education Preparation (Formal and Informal):
- Missouri Athletic Training License required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Basic Life Support/CPR and AED certification required
- Master's degree preferred

Term of Employment: This position shall be recommended to the Board of Education by the Superintendent of Schools and shall receive salary and other employee fringe benefits in accordance with the Board-approved policies and resolutions. The number of workdays per school year will be established by the Superintendent.
