Role Overview Little Hands Big Dreams Pediatric Therapy is seeking a caring, motivated, and skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide individualized early intervention occupational therapy services for children and families. This position is ideal for a therapist who enjoys working with infants and toddlers, providing play-based intervention, supporting sensory processing and regulation, and partnering closely with parents and caregivers. The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat children with developmental delays, sensory processing differences, fine motor delays, gross motor and coordination challenges, feeding concerns, self-care difficulties, and social-emotional regulation needs. Services are provided primarily in the child’s natural environment, including the family’s home, and require travel within the service area. This role offers flexible hours and is a good fit for a therapist looking for part-time work with the ability to build a schedule that works for them. Therapy will be delivered using a child-led, play-based, relationship-based approach that supports each child’s participation in daily routines and meaningful family activities. Responsibilities Provide pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and treatment sessions in the child's home Use play-based and developmentally appropriate intervention strategies Support sensory processing, self-regulation, body awareness, motor planning, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, feeding, dressing, hygiene, and daily living skills Develop individualized treatment plans and functional goals based on each child’s needs Provide parent education, coaching, and home program recommendations Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, strategies, and carryover at home Complete documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and other required paperwork in a timely manner Collaborate with caregivers, other therapists, physicians, teachers, and community providers as appropriate Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment Use professional judgment to adapt activities based on the child’s regulation, interests, and developmental level. Qualifications Current California Occupational Therapy license Knowledge of Pediatrics and child development, with experience working with children across a range of abilities and diagnoses. Knowledge of sensory processing, child development, play-based therapy, and family-centered care Effective communication skills for collaboration with families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary medical or therapy teams.
