Sr Medical Science Liaison

Overview

The Sr. Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Florida will represent the Medical Affairs organization to provide field scientific expertise to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs) in compliance with all policies, regulations, and guidelines. The MSL provides fair, balanced, objective scientific information and appropriate product education for all Arcutis marketed and investigational products and therapeutic areas. The MSL should be recognized as an expert in Arcutis' products and specified therapeutic areas by opinion leaders (OLs) and HCPs and will serve as a product/therapeutic area expert to internal partners, ensuring scientific and training requirements are addressed adequately. The MSL builds relationships with OLs, researchers, and institutions in the specified therapeutic area and stays abreast of current scientific trends and publications.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Uses strong knowledge of relevant disease and disease management protocols, healthcare environment and competitors to articulate the medical and scientific value of our products with external stakeholders.
2. Establishes robust, long-term peer relationships with Opinion Leaders (OL) and other stakeholder partners.
3. Effectively utilizes the Scientific Engagement Model to plan territory and individual stakeholder engagement interactions consistent with the Field Base Medical Activity Plan and medical function priorities.
4. Critically and routinely evaluates information gained from published studies and stakeholder interactions to develop key insights that deepen our understanding of the market's needs and opinions of external stakeholders, and contributes to enhancement of medical strategy.
5. Keeps abreast of medical and scientific developments in the therapeutic field to help identify and critically assess research opportunities, and supports the execution of evidence generation plans to enhance the value of our products in a real-world setting.
6. Collaborates with the Clinical Development Unit to support clinical trials.
7. Responds to unsolicited requests regarding interest in investigator initiated trials (IIT) and supports IIT submissions through appropriate internal processes.
8. Organizes educational meetings or local scientific advisory boards when requested.
9. Supports speaker training.
10. Responds to unsolicited requests for medical information associated with supported products and disease state areas.

Education & Licenses and Experience

• Education: MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA or other relevant advanced science degree required.
• Work Experience: Previous MSL or clinical experience in dermatology preferred.

• Proficiency with digital tools.
• Working knowledge of drug development, regulatory approval processes, clinical trial methodologies, and guidelines is required.
• Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, regulatory and commercial compliance issues relating to research conduct, interactions with HCPs, and dissemination of scientific information preferred.
• Capability to work independently or in a team structure and to adjust effectively to work within new structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, passion for building a successful team.
• Ability to anticipate and adapt to change while maintaining the momentum of an overall strategic plan.

Working Conditions

Must be willing and able to travel approximately 60% within the region, including overnight travel. Other travel for business meetings or conferences may also be required. Must live within the territory and in close proximity to a major airport. Must possess a valid U.S. driver\'s license and a clean driving record.
