SBA Underwriter

To support a growing lending team, the full-time remote SBA Underwriter will prepare and analyze loan requests, ensuring compliance with SBA guidelines while assessing the creditworthiness of applicants through detailed financial analysis and documentation. Key responsibilities Prepare and analyze creditworthiness of loan requests by reviewing financial statements and supporting documents Inform lenders of SBA guidelines and assist in structuring loan requests, including collateral assessments and business overviews Collaborate with the underwriting team to enhance the underwriting process and improve the overall lender/borrower experience Required qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial loans and/or SBA/USDA loan underwriting Strong understanding of SBA loan programs and credit analysis, including financial ratio benchmarks and collateral analysis Recent experience in a high-volume underwriting environment with knowledge of lending regulations and procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with commercial lending platforms such as Abrigo
