Job Summary Manager, Workplace Operations – Work on-site in Portland, OR; Renton, WA; or Salt Lake City, UT. This role is part of the Facilities and Physical Security team, overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of a facility or portfolio of facilities, leading a team of facilities management, facilities engineering, and workplace strategy staff. Responsibilities Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems. Understand critical assets and the risks/impacts of their failure; proactively communicate risks and remediations to the client. Work closely with vendor partners and subject matter experts to ensure proper maintenance, emergency response, and change management are employed. Develop and implement short‑ and long‑range Workplace Strategy in collaboration with the Director Real Estate & Facilities, identifying alternative solutions to minimize costs, maximize space optimization, and address employee trends. Direct the management of warehouse/inventory and budget, set direction for the team to provide CAFM software, maintain building floor plans, track and report occupancy/vacancy, and provide tools and information on the REAF website. Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of services. Coordinate space planning, layout, and allocation to ensure efficient use of facilities and alignment with business needs. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall workplace experience. Provide exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, and stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution of facilities‑related issues and requests. Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost‑effective operations. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards; identify and mitigate risks associated with facilities operations. Supervise and mentor a team of facilities staff, including coordinators, technicians, strategists, and contractors. Manage small‑to‑medium sized projects, including renovations, upgrades, and special events. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Work primarily in an office environment; travel required locally or out of state; may be required to work outside of normal hours. FTEs supervised: 5–10. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of experience in facilities management, operations, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a management role or equivalent combination of education and experience. CFM (Certified Facilities Manager) or FMP (Facilities Management Professional) certification preferred. Strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational abilities. Leadership and teamwork orientation. Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects successfully and within budget. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional corporate office facility or portfolio of facilities, teams, and budgets. Demonstrated ability to minimize costs and maximize space optimization. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement short‑ and long‑range Workplace Strategy. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and facilities management software (e.g., Serraview, Famis 360, Tango, FM:Systems, Planon). Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision‑making in professional settings highly desired.
