Pay: $29 - $31 / hr based on experience

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 430pm

Job Description:

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Air Import Coordinator / Air Import Specialist to oversee international air freight shipments arriving in the United States. This individual will manage shipment coordination from arrival through final delivery, working closely with international partners, customs brokers, transportation providers, warehouses, and customers to ensure shipments move efficiently and documentation is accurate.

The ideal candidate has experience in freight forwarding or logistics, understands air import procedures, and can effectively manage multiple shipments while providing timely communication and resolving issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee incoming international air freight shipments from arrival in the United States through final delivery.
• Communicate shipment progress, anticipated delivery dates, and potential delays to customers and internal contacts.
• Work with customs brokers to facilitate clearance and confirm that required import documentation is complete.
• Schedule and coordinate ground transportation with trucking providers and receiving facilities.
• Review shipment milestones, identify potential disruptions, and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems, including IES.
• Review vendor, carrier, and handling charges to confirm invoice accuracy and approve expenses as appropriate.
• Generate customer invoices and prepare detailed shipment cost summaries.
• Investigate cargo damage, claims, and service concerns while coordinating timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with overseas agents and other logistics partners to support smooth shipment execution.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or air import operations preferred.
• Familiarity with international air freight processes, shipping documentation, and Incoterms.
• Working knowledge of U.S. import requirements and customs clearance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with transportation management systems; familiarity with IES is a plus.
