Direct Counsel is seeking a Capital Markets Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.

Location: New York, NY
Position Type: Associate (Lateral)
Experience Level: 3–6 years

Direct Counsel is partnering with a global law firm to identify a mid-level associate for its Capital Markets practice, with a focus on structured finance and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS). This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team at the forefront of securitization work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents for RMBS and structured finance transactions, including:
  • Securitizations
  • Warehouse and term financings
  • Repurchase facilities
• Prepare and review legal opinions and transaction closing deliverables
• Assist with deal structuring and advise on legal and regulatory considerations
• Communicate directly with clients and transaction counterparties
• Collaborate with deal teams to manage transactions from inception through closing

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of law firm experience in structured finance
• Experience with RMBS transactions strongly preferred
• Familiarity with securitizations, financings, and repurchase agreements
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar

Work Environment:

• Primarily in-office role based in New York

Compensation:

• Salary range: $260,000 – $390,000
• Bonus eligible with a comprehensive benefits package
