Child and Youth Program Assistant CY-01/02.

Overview Provides developmental care and instruction for children and youth ages 6 weeks to 18 years in Child and Youth Services programs. Responsibilities Provide appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth. Supervise and account for whereabouts and safety during daily routines, indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, outings, and special events. Assist in implementing planned, developmentally appropriate activities, schedules, and routines using prepared curriculum, activity plans, and materials (group and individual activities). Arrange or serve appropriate snacks or meals. Identify and respond to emergency situations, including evacuations, child/youth illness, and physical and emotional needs. Conditions of Employment Direct deposit and Social Security Card is required. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment. A one‑year probationary period may apply. Must satisfactorily complete an E-Verify check. Must pass background checks, a pre‑employment physical, and maintain current immunization (influenza vaccine and other communicable disease vaccines). Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand as required for Child Development Center positions. Must have visual and auditory capabilities for supervision. Must report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect. Must complete all DoW and Service training requirements and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, and field trips as required. Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written. For higher‑level positions, must provide college transcripts showing relevant coursework.
