Job Overview
We are seeking a positive, experienced, dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support in the care of animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of our patients while delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and providing necessary tools and supplies.
Perform routine animal care tasks, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals in the kennel.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Prepare animals for surgery.
Record patient information accurately using veterinary terminology in electronic health records.
Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
Provide support in laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing and assisting with diagnostic procedures.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care practices, including nutrition, training, and preventive health measures.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary setting is required.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the team.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with both animals and their owners is preferred.
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
