Role Overview Payloads / Interiors Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) – supports the Customer Support team in providing Boeing’s full suite of commercial aircraft support. This role requires flexibility to address emergent issues, attend airline meetings off‑hours, and support a 24/7/365 fleet operation. Primary Responsibilities Works directly with airline customers to address and resolve in‑service airplane system issues related to Payloads, Interiors, Cargo Handling and Water Waste systems across all Boeing commercial airplane models. Acts as a liaison and coordinates with various engineering and technical disciplines to address customer concerns. Provides technical, design and informational support for basic production, product support or in‑service issues. Troubleshoots basic system problems consistent with operational protocols. Supports analysis, definition, and verification of basic requirements; modifies requirements as needed based on approved processes and tools. Supports creation and provision of basic technical documentation (e.g., Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes for internal or external use. Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing, and documenting findings. Supports review of technical design, analysis, and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance. Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies. Supports research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service. Works with cross‑functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non‑conformances. Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace / Aeronautical, or Material Sciences). 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience. Able and willing to occasionally work outside of standard 1st shift to support 24/7/365 operation – Saturday and Sunday work will occasionally be required. Preferred Qualifications (Optional) Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience. Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time. Experience with Interiors and Payloads Systems. Ability to present to senior leadership and collaborate with multiple team functions. Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience. Strong communicator, proficient in both written and verbal English. Pay is based on experience and qualifications. Summary Pay Range: Associate (Level 2) $90,950–123,050; Experienced (Level 3) $111,350–150,650.
