PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

Maintain a positive image of the company while achieving safety and performance goals. Motivate, coach, train, and lead employees to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Ensure linen quality, control production costs, meet inventory cost initiatives, and achieve employee turnover goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple departments and a diverse team of production operators performing various job functions.
• Ensure all employees are at their assigned work areas and that sufficient workloads are available.
• Maintain an even and timely workflow through the production floor and soil sort.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure a productive and efficient workflow while meeting quality standards.
• Ensure accuracy and accountability through production and quality metrics, visual indicators, and positive reinforcement.
• Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
• Provide training and follow-up to ensure personnel perform their jobs according to their job descriptions, offering daily/weekly coaching to improve effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the HR Department to determine hiring, training, and employee improvement needs.
• Approve PTO and leave schedules for employees.
• Ensure employees are properly introduced to company objectives, policies, and safety standards, and that each new employee receives proper training.
• Enhance production (PPOH) and reduce productive labor percentage.
• Review production and goal performance records with management routinely.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on necessary equipment repairs, maintaining written requests and follow-ups.
• Ensure prompt and satisfactory responses to customer concerns.
• Verify daily adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Maintain plant organization and cleanliness through proper 5S process management.
• Provide accountability to produce consistent results at all organizational levels.
• Set performance goals and deadlines aligned with company objectives and communicate them to employees.
• Prepare and submit performance reports, making recommendations for promotions based on performance.

Job Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to work on the production floor.
• Ability to push/pull soil/clean carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels).
• Capability to meet physical requirements such as bending, twisting, and pulling consistently.
• Management skills: Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively train others.
• Accountability: Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.
• Accuracy: Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Oral Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken words.
• Written Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Finding solutions to difficult or complex issues.
• Training: Ability to develop specific skills in others to meet predetermined work performance standards.
• Must be a high school graduate.
• 6 months to 1 year of related production experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.

Shift Details

Must be able to work 1st Shift: 3:00 AM to 1:30 PM and off-shift when production needs demand or when a new product line is introduced at the time of 2nd Shift: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
