Senior FLIGHT DECK Leader

Job Description Summary The Enabling Functions FLIGHT DECK Leader will be responsible for transforming results through the application of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s lean operating model. FLIGHT DECK, our lean operating model, consists of behaviors and fundamentals incorporating results management and lean principles to create a culture that is focused on creating value for our customers through respect for people. This role reports to the Enabling Functions FLIGHT DECK Leader and will serve as a coach, facilitator, and advocate to the Sciences Engineering and Strategy organization to drive the understanding and adoption of FLIGHT DECK. Roles and Responsibilities Partner with Sciences Engineering and Strategy leaders to prioritize and solve problems based on voice of the customer and voice of the process. Implement and coach the Daily Management process including daily management meetings, Genba walks, and Kata coaching cycles. Be a champion of kaizen and facilitate kaizen events to drive improvements. Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to help them build lean skills and become lean practitioners. Coach, mentor and develop organizational competencies to drive effective KPIs, action plans, and problem solving to drive sustainable results. Deliver step‑change performance improvement through the execution of Hoshin Kanri improvement priorities and action planning. Work with colleagues to quickly deploy new, best‑practice capability and processes. Embrace Lean, digital tools, and rigorous prioritization to drive continuous improvement and increase employee and customer satisfaction. Support the function to accelerate problem solving application. Share best practices across different segments of GE Aerospace, Defense and Systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. At least 5 years’ experience applying Lean in a global, matrix organization. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality improvement, and 5+ years of experience in lean or operations leadership. Lean methodology and Six Sigma tools expertise. Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating Value Stream and Kaizen events and coaching core tools such as Daily Management, structured Problem Solving, and Standard Work. Continuous improvement experience in both transactional and supply chain operations environments. Proven ability to drive outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – able to influence without direct authority. Experience delivering Hoshin Kanri (HK) breakthrough objectives. Change agent and able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact. Experience with Change Management and how to drive adoption and develop maturity. Demonstrated bias for action with ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Desired Characteristics Experience facilitating 5‑day Kaizen events, including preparation, coaching stakeholders in framing the problem statement, facilitating the session to identify opportunities and drive decision‑making, assigning ownership, and managing follow‑up. Experience achieving results using the Lean toolset. Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn. Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively. Problem solver: analytical‑minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker. Compensation The base pay range for this position is $142,000.00 – $189,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of the base salary.
