Project Coordinator (Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator to support the day-to-day administration of a critical compliance program. Your work will help ensure accurate testing processes, timely coordination, and the careful handling of sensitive information, directly supporting operational integrity and workforce safety. This is a 6-month contract opportunity based in Austin, TX, with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days per week onsite. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM CT, 4.5 hours per day. Shift start time may occasionally change based on drug and alcohol testing needs. This role is ideal for someone who is highly dependable, comfortable working within established processes, and skilled at managing detailed administrative tasks with discretion and accuracy. What You'll Do Assist with managing the random drug and alcohol testing pool for drivers, ensuring participant lists remain accurate and current. Support the random selection process and carefully track selection results. Coordinate and schedule drug and alcohol testing appointments. Notify selected drivers and supervisors of testing requirements in accordance with established program protocols. Maintain a detailed calendar and tracker of scheduled, completed, and outstanding tests. Monitor testing activity and help ensure required follow-up is completed. Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Drug and Alcohol Program. Assist with routine reporting on testing pool status and completion rates. Help prepare materials for required trainings and program communications. Handle confidential employee and contractor information with tact and discretion. Follow established processes closely and escape questions or exceptions appropriately. What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of related administrative, coordination, compliance, or program support experience. Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage schedules, trackers, records, and follow-up activities accurately. Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Comfort working within structured processes and escalating issues when needed. Ability to work the required 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM CT schedule and maintain the hybrid onsite requirement. Nice-to-Haves Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Experience supporting drug and alcohol testing, occupational health, safety, compliance, HR operations, fleet operations, transportation, or another regulated environment.
