Senior Legal Counsel

Seeking a California Licensed Senior Legal Counsel in Employment, this full-time remote position will manage employment and labor law matters, providing strategic legal guidance, conducting investigations, and advising on compliance and risk management within a higher education context. Key responsibilities Providing practical legal counsel and risk assessment on operational and strategic matters related to higher education Serving as lead counsel on employment-related disputes and managing pre-litigation and litigation matters Conducting workplace and student-related investigations, recommending resolutions, and advising on compliance with employment laws Required qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing employment law in a litigation or higher education setting Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school Active license to practice law in California Experience advising on complex employment issues, including workplace investigations and regulatory compliance Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, and FMLA
