Direct Support Professional Caregiver

Job Description

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is looking for a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional to help support adults with developmental disabilities in the Santa Barbara area.This is a flexible fill-in position for someone who is available to pick up shifts as needed. There are no guaranteed hours or set schedule, making this a great fit for someone looking for extra income, flexible work, or experience in caregiving and human services.

Responsibilities

Provide support and companionship to clients
Assist with community activities and daily living skills
Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment
Encourage independence and engagement
Follow care plans and communicate with staff as needed

Qualifications

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
Compassionate, patient, and dependable
Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and client needs

Position Details

On-call / fill-in support staff
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or overnights depending on need
Flexible availability preferred
Training provided
