A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with high school students at a 9th-12th grade community school. This contract position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting at-risk students and skilled in behavior intervention. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with teacher hours scheduled from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, and includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota teaching license in EBD (Emotional or Behavioral Disorders), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders), or ABS (Academic Behavioral Strategist)
- Experience working with at-risk student populations
- Strength in collaborating with educational staff, support teams, and families
- Demonstrated expertise in behavior support and intervention strategies
- Willingness to work onsite at the designated community school
- Please note: Submission of both a resume and valid MN teaching license is mandatory for application consideration
- Placement with an out-of-field licensure is possible with district support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction aligned to each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and academic modifications
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students, cultivating a positive learning environment
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, related service providers, and district staff to promote student growth
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere for all learners
