Step into a dynamic role supporting 9th-12th grade students as an onsite Special Education Teacher in a vibrant community school environment. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with dedicated colleagues and at-risk students, making a real difference in their educational journey.
As a member of the special education team, your skills in behavior support and collaboration will be key as you develop and implement individualized educational plans. This contract position allows you to engage with students who require specialized support, drawing on your passion for helping young people thrive.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education License in EBD, ASD, or ABS
- Experience supporting at-risk youth is highly preferred
- Proficiency in developing and implementing behavioral interventions
- Strong ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with colleagues, students, and families
- Willingness to pursue Out of Field Licensure Placement if applicable
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to 9th-12th grade students in a community school setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to deliver optimal student outcomes
- Foster positive relationships and a safe, inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to meet academic and behavioral goals
