Network Engineer MIT

Overview Montefiore Health System is hiring a Network Engineer to optimize and upgrade core wireless network components that support clinicians and other healthcare professionals in delivering lifesaving care. Responsibilities Analyze business and application requirements and present wireless design solutions for various environments. Provide recommendations for wireless standards and improvements to leadership. Develop implementation scripts for deployment of wireless designs, maintenance, and quality assurance. Design changes and buildouts in accordance with established infrastructure standards. Document, review, and deliver design documentation to the network operations team. Work with the Deployment Services Team and product groups to ensure business and user needs are satisfied. Manage relationships with internal technical and non‑technical business groups to align solutions with business goals. Provide second‑level technical assistance and fault isolation to operational level support staff. Provide design and project management services for new client projects, enhancements, and core initiatives. Consult project members and clients to guarantee successful project completion. Participate in project budgeting and procurement as needed. Perform other related duties as required. Required Experience Expert level Aruba ClearPass design, configuration and maintenance. Cisco Prime design, configuration and maintenance. WLAN Controller configuration and tuning. Wireless network fault isolation and troubleshooting. Scoping and managing wireless license environments. Project management. Wireless site survey experience using the Ekahau toolset. Understanding of VoWiFi, RTLS (Real Time Location Tracking) and outdoor mesh technologies. Knowledge of wireless LAN controllers and access‑point models. Meraki AP configuration and tuning. Strong working knowledge of layer 1, 2 and 3 network technologies. Technical documentation skills. Other Qualifications Aruba Associate, Professional, or Expert Level certifications. Cisco CCNA Wireless or IT Expert Wireless. Excellent writing and communication skills. Excellent organization and time‑management skills. Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and excel in a fast‑paced environment. Leadership and influencing abilities. Strong interpersonal skills. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent follow‑up skills. Adaptability to rapidly changing environments. Experience in Healthcare, Higher Education, and/or Clinical Research is a plus.
