Role Description

The Manager, Product Management leads a team of product managers, driving execution, team development, and operational excellence within their discipline. This role bridges strategic direction with hands-on delivery, ensuring the team operates with clear goals, measurable impact, and continuous improvement. The Manager owns team performance, coaching and developing talent, establishing skill development frameworks, and driving customer-centric decision-making. They partner across cross-functional teams—engineering, design, product, analytics, and business—to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced product professional or designer with proven ability to lead and develop teams while driving execution. They are customer-focused, analytical, and skilled at translating requirements into clear deliverables. They excel at balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and have strong communication skills across all levels of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead and manage a team of 2-3 product managers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Set clear individual goals, success metrics, and accountability measures.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development plans to build team capabilities.
  • Create a collaborative, high-performing culture that embraces continuous learning and improvement.
  • Support career growth and advancement opportunities for team members.
• Execution & Results:
  • Ensure the team executes on strategic priorities and delivers measurable impact to the organization.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality of work, and adherence to timelines.
  • Manage competing priorities and scope to fit deliverables into development iterations.
  • Demonstrate how team outcomes align with broader organizational goals.
  • Drive accountability for results while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Provide regular visibility to leadership on progress, challenges, and impact.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, design, analytics, business stakeholders, and leadership to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring shared understanding of goals and requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across teams.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Translate complex requirements and dependencies into actionable plans.
  • Resolve cross-team conflicts and support dependencies proactively.
• Customer-Centric Decision-Making:
  • Drive a customer-centric mindset within the team.
  • Support user research activities, customer interviews, and direct customer engagement.
  • Help translate customer insights into actionable solutions and requirements.
  • Ensure solutions meet customer needs while aligning with business objectives.
  • Advocate for customer perspective in prioritization and trade-off decisions.
• Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Implement best practices that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends and methodologies in your discipline.
  • Share knowledge and insights across teams to drive innovation.
  • Establish and communicate clear standards and practices for team deliverables.
  • Monitor KPIs and metrics to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support product managers in developing and maintaining roadmaps aligned with strategic vision.
• Coach team members in roadmap prioritization, customer research, and product decision-making.
• Lead product planning and goal-setting activities that cascade team objectives.
• Facilitate cross-functional product planning with engineering, design, and analytics.
• Support go-to-market activities and product launch coordination.
• Help translate complex product requirements into effective communication for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience with demonstrated success in delivering results.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience with evidence of successfully leading, mentoring, and developing team members.
• Proven track record of managing full project/product lifecycle from concept through delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills (written, verbal, and visual) with ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and building effective stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated customer-centric mindset with experience translating customer insights into actionable requirements.
• Proficiency with relevant collaboration and project management tools.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
• High emotional intelligence and empathy; ability to understand and address team, customer, and stakeholder needs.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments subject to rapid change and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience.
• Experience in enterprise software, financial services, or insurance product management.
• Familiarity with agile/scaled product development frameworks.
• Experience with roadmapping tools and analytics platforms.
• Experience in fintech, enterprise software, or insurance technologies.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Work Environment

• This role is a remote (work from home (WFH) opportunity) and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.
• It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.
• Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
• Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary.

Salary Range
