We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Product Management for a global water quality manufacturing company. The Senior Manager, Product Management will oversee all product management activities associated with Conditioning and Filtration. This will include planning and execution of product portfolio changes (develop/acquire new products, modify existing products, rationalize obsolete or low performing products) to deliver sales and profitability growth targets. The Sr. Manager leads a team of product managers and product specialists in North America and reports directly to the General Manager. Working Remote Opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Identify market trends and opportunities in key verticals for the business and in alignment with business strategy.
• Identify product portfolio changes (new product development, product modification, product retirement) that support the business strategy and provide opportunities for sales growth and higher profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, sourcing, and engineering to ensure alignment with planned product portfolio changes.
• Direct product managers and specialists to manage product portfolio change projects through company’s stage gate process.
• Direct product managers and specialists to make necessary price changes to optimize profitability in collaboration with sales, sourcing, operations, and engineering.
• Define and implement processes and best practices for product road mapping, business case preparation, marketing strategy development, rationalization, and other product management activities.
• Direct product managers to develop technology road maps that consider technology innovations, market trends, competitive landscape opportunities and market requirements for target segments.
• Inputs will include financial projections (orders, sales, and gross margin by product line) and specific commitments for growth from commercial programs and new product development launches.
• Maintain updated competitive landscape analyses for water quality equipment, media, and controls to track market share evolution, new entrants, introduction of disruptive technologies, and monitor competitor technology strategies.
• Maintain updated acquisition target lists for cloud-based control and monitoring solution products.
• Set annual targets for product managers and specialists and conduct annual performance reviews in adherence to company policy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. Masters degree preferred.
• Masters related to process instrumentation and control systems.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in product management and 15 years of experience in the water treatment of water quality industry.
• In-depth knowledge of product management best practices, marketing strategy development methodologies, forecasting models and business case preparation techniques, and pricing models.
• Working knowledge of financial statements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multifunctional teams preferably in industrial or municipal water treatment environments.
• In-depth technical knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, control market space, and competitive landscape of instrumentation and control systems.
• Highly prefer water quality, water filtration, potable water industry experience.
