Assistant Controller Location: Hempstead, New York Salary: Up to $150,000 annually + Bonus Why This Opportunity Stands Out Act as the Controller's primary delegate with real influence over accounting operations and decisions Own complex technical accounting and tax oversight in a multi-entity, nationwide organization Gain exposure to senior leadership, external auditors, and third-party tax advisors Work for a 2025 Best Places to Work award-winning company with a strong, control-minded culture Enjoy 100% employer-paid family health insurance Immediate vesting retirement plan with company match Operate in a stable, essential industry (transportation & logistics) with operational complexity Opportunity to apply AI and process improvements within accounting and close functions Lead and develop a seasoned accounting team while strengthening internal controls Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller Manage and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting Review journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and key balance sheet accounts Ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP across multiple legal entities Serve as internal owner of all tax matters, coordinating with external advisors Act as primary liaison with external auditors and support audit deliverables Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the accounting team Qualifications for the Assistant Controller Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in multi-entity U.S. operations Proven experience with sales & use tax across multiple U.S. jurisdictions Background in transportation, logistics, fleet-based, or services environments #J-18808-Ljbffr Institute of Management Accountants, Inc.
