Inside Sales Associate

Job Summary:

Are you an experienced HVAC technician ready to trade ladders, crawlspaces, and Florida heat for an air-conditioned workplace? Put your industry experience to work in an Inside Sales role at Victor Distributing Company.

As an Inside Salesperson, you’ll help customers select the right equipment, parts, and supplies; prepare and process orders; and coordinate with management and warehouse staff to ensure accurate, timely service. You’ll build customer relationships, help solve problems, and identify opportunities to recommend additional products that support each customer’s needs.

We provide training on our systems, processes, and product offerings to help you turn your field experience into success behind the counter.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greets and interacts with customers.
• Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to the merchandise.
• Partners with experienced technical service advisors or experienced staff to provide explanations on merchandise with the goal of helping the customer select the best options suitable for the customer’s needs.
• Answers customer questions or escalates the question to appropriate staff.
• Retrieves merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; places special orders. Helps to stock products as needed.
• Collects payment using the store point-of-sale system and processes returns and exchanges.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate or quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous HVAC install and service experience preferred.
• Experience in a front-counter sales environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting customers at the sales counter.
• Ability to sit and use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone to process orders and communicate with customers.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally kneel to retrieve or handle merchandise.
• Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment for heavier or bulky items.
• Ability to move safely through counter, showroom, and warehouse areas.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
