About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not required to submit Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: RN must be comfortable with a staffing ratio of 1:6/7 Description: The unit has a capacity of 30 beds. Patient ratios will adjust up to 1:7. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI. One Charge Nurse is assigned to the floor. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) will be available on the unit. RNs are required to titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results. There is intermittent BIPAP equipment available, but no ventilators. Telemetry is monitored remotely by technicians. Scheduling will transition to Qgenda. Weekend and holiday shifts are scheduled as needed, typically 1/2 of the weekends. There is no standby or call requirement. Floating to other units may be required based on census, with external travelers floated first. Scrub color is navy blue. The charting system used is EPIC. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not a requirement for this position.
