Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team.

This position entails driving and operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) while installing blasting products for clients at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. The role also includes maintaining and caring for the equipment.

This hybrid position comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include loading products, operating a Class B CDL truck, managing hoses, controlling manufacturing unit systems, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.

Moreover, this role involves operating equipment to deliver blasting products while ensuring high-quality service in providing bulk explosives to our customers. We prioritize safety and are committed to conducting all operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts between 3 AM and 5 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours of work each day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities

• This role combines 40% driving with 60% physical tasks
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
• Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled and stored according to regulations
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control
• Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
• Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or handling materials is preferred
• Familiarity with DOT regulations is required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Attention to detail and basic math skills for daily inventory management
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to enhance efficiency

Physical Requirements

• Work environment includes outdoor conditions in various weather
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of products or materials
• Capable of loading products, managing large hoses, filling holes, and climbing on/off the truck
• Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
• Engage in pushing/pulling while working with equipment
• Regular bending and squatting are required

Your Qualifications

• Class B CDL is required; Class A is a plus
• Tanker endorsement is preferred
• Hazmat endorsement is preferred
• Support will be provided for obtaining endorsements
• At least one year of driving experience is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent is required

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500

(Salary will be determined based on the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
