We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Distribution Manager in Morton, IL. The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). Job Summary: This Distribution Manager provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure. Additional Info: This role is based in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation. This role is 1st Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm. This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules. What You Will Do: Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations. Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment. Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews. Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary. Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations. What You Have (Required Skills): Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there. Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness. Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers. Problem Management Process: Knowledge of logistics problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution. Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) DIQ (Dematic IQ) Microsoft applications knowledge What You Will Get: This role is an opportunity for development, to lead a diverse team, and to learn more about the logistics business on the outbound side. Summary Pay Range: $79,800.00 - $119,760.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
