PRIMARY PURPOSE Negotiate, facilitate, and monitor successful return‑to‑work of claimants within appropriate disability duration guidelines; determine specific physical tolerances and vocational skills required for employment positions requested by referral sources or employers; assist case management staff with client competence decisions; contact employers to gather specific job site/employment information and prepare related reports; assist with job site modification or adaptive equipment; and ensure medical, legal, and accreditation standards are maintained. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Determine objective, quantifiable, medically supported work restrictions for assigned claims. Facilitate RTW efforts through negotiation with client, treatment provider, and claimant; complete all vocational/RTW‑related documentation, notification, or reporting; document client contact in claim notes per Sedgwick CMS standards; assist case management staff in decisions regarding client competence for specific positions. Adhere to medical, legal regulations and accreditation standards in written communication. Develop contacts with company managers to introduce the program and represent the client. Contact employers to determine specific employment information (training/education needed, physical demands, wages and benefits, availability, etc.); ascertain physical tolerances and vocational skills required; assist in modifying job sites or obtaining adaptive equipment; communicate with coworkers about labor trends. Maintain regular contact with clients following placement; contact involved individuals regarding progress and suggest changes to rehabilitation plans as needed. Work closely with team members to ensure a smooth transition from medical case management to job placement. Prepare reports to document research results. Perform other tasks related to vocational evaluation and work adjustment training as needed. Perform other duties as assigned and support the organization’s quality program(s). EDUCATION & LICENSING Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) designation required. EXPERIENCE Four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Includes one (1) year of return‑to‑work or job accommodation experience or four (4) years of claims management experience. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Good working knowledge of return‑to‑work or job accommodation procedures. Good technical knowledge of claims management procedures. Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills. PC literate, including Microsoft Office products. Analytical and interpretive skills. Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent negotiation skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies. PERFORMANCE COMPETENCIES Required mental, physical, and auditory/visual competencies include clear conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, problem‑solving, analytical ability, handling work‑related stress, managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, computer keyboarding, and travel as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Computer keyboarding. Travel as required. Hearing, vision, and talking (auditory/visual). COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Annual salary range: $55,000.00 – $60,000.00 USD (subject to location and experience).
