• Pay Info: Sign-on Bonus of $20,000 with a commitment

Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist, your role will involve assessing residents and patients, utilizing various treatments to assist them in developing, maintaining, and recovering their ability to perform daily tasks. Successful Occupational Therapists at our organization are typically excellent communicators, empathetic, and enjoy engaging with individuals. In this position, you may also supervise assistants, aides, and students as they provide care and treatment, while collaborating with external parties such as providers, case managers, and family members.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and implement interventions for residents and patients.
• Assess the abilities of residents/patients and establish realistic therapy goals.
• Document patient information for evaluations and create therapeutic plans.
• Provide education aimed at enhancing understanding and improving functional outcomes.
• Integrate current research knowledge into daily treatment practices.
• Offer ongoing education and training to colleagues in your areas of expertise.

Qualifications

• Required education level must align with state licensure regulations.
• Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state(s) of practice.
• For those working at a Sanford Health Facility (preferred but not mandatory for GSS Facilities): Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred. A valid driver's license may be required.
• Must obtain and maintain necessary department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
• In North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota, new graduates awaiting board testing may be considered if they possess a temporary license.
