Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary:

The Montana Intensive Behavioral Center Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, including hygiene care, vital signs monitoring, specimen collection, and emergency assistance. This role requires experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, strong de-escalation skills, and the ability to work flexible 8-hour shifts within a float pool environment. Effective communication and cooperation with the healthcare team are essential. Responsibilities:

Assist residents with basic hygiene tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, and dressing. Take and record vital signs and collect specimens as needed. Provide support during emergency situations. Transport residents to appointments and assist as necessary. Maintain accurate observations and reports on resident status. Collaborate constructively with team members to ensure quality resident care. Required Skills & Certifications:

Valid Montana Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health facilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions both orally and in writing. Basic knowledge of personal hygiene and healthcare support tasks. Driver's license. BLS certification. Preferred Skills & Certifications:

CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification or willingness to complete training. Experience as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or in developmental disability care. At least 1 year of travel contract experience. Highly skilled in de-escalation techniques. Special Considerations:

Flexible availability required to cover shifts in a float pool setting. Shift times include 6:00 AM 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM 6:00 AM. No requirement for return to office (RTO). Work environment focused on adult psychiatric and behavioral health care. Scheduling:

Flexible 8-hour shifts within a 26-week assignment period. Shift assignments based on open shift availability and float pool needs. Willingness to work holidays and varied shifts as required.
