About the Position

ATI Aviation is seeking an experienced Non Destructive Evaluation Technician / Department Lead to manage and support the daily operations of our NDE Department in Cleveland, Ohio.

This is a hands on position for an experienced NDE professional who can perform inspections while taking ownership of the department's daily workflow, equipment, consumables, documentation, and production requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, engineering, production management, and shop personnel to ensure inspections are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable technical data and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily workflow and operations of the NDE Department.

• Perform Magnetic Particle Inspection using wet fluorescent and dry powder methods.

• Perform Liquid Penetrant Inspection using water washable fluorescent methods.

• Set up and safely operate a large fluorescent magnetic particle inspection bench while ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent damage to components.

• Perform inspections in accordance with applicable technical procedures, specifications, maintenance data, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain NDE equipment, materials, and consumables and ensure processing tanks and solutions are serviced or changed at required intervals.

• Maintain accurate inspection records, equipment records, process documentation, and department data using Microsoft Office and Excel.

• Coordinate inspection priorities and production requirements with Quality, engineering, management, and shop departments.

• Operate an overhead crane or be willing and able to complete the required training.

• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and compliant NDE work area.

• Support overtime when necessary to meet customer and production requirements.

Qualifications

• Current or previous certification and documented qualification in Magnetic Particle Inspection , including wet fluorescent and dry powder methods.

• Current or previous certification and documented qualification in Liquid Penetrant Inspection , including water washable fluorescent methods.

• Strong understanding of NDE inspection techniques, equipment, materials, and processing requirements.

• Ability to read and follow technical procedures, specifications, drawings, and other approved technical data.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple departments.

• Aerospace, aviation maintenance, MRO, or FAA regulated repair station experience is strongly preferred.
