The Phillip Charles Group has been servicing the local metro Detroit area for the past 30 years and has built incredibly strong partnerships with our clients, candidates and employees. We have worked with our current client for years and they are looking for a Loan Operations Specialist for a Contract opportunity based out of their Troy, MI location.

Role Overview: The Loan Operations Specialist manages accounting functions for Credit Unions, overseeing loan payments and credit advances, and handling MBL-related inquiries and escrow property tax accounting.

 
Schedule & Compensation:
- Contract Duration: Until October/November 2026, possible indefinite extension.
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (in-office).
- Pay Rate: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience.

 
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer daily loan payments and general ledger entries; ensure compliance and accurate accounting.
- Review transactions and cash accounts for correct payment collection and application.
- Manage ACH payments following NACHA protocols and internal controls.
- Coordinate month-end and quarter-end reporting and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Loan Officers on payment issues and funding requests.
- Handle Loan Operations email communications and assist with ad-hoc reporting.

 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in loan operations preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of automated loan accounting systems and accounting principles.
- Experience with processing escrow payments and tax remittance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing deadlines and priorities.

 
Physical Requirements: Sedentary office role requiring standard office equipment use, ability to walk short distances, perform repetitive motions, and maintain close visual acuity for data analysis and reading.
