Chess or STEM Instructor (After School) – Baltimore Area

Location: Baltimore Area, Maryland

BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring energetic and reliable After-School Instructors to teach either Chess or STEM to elementary-aged students in fun, structured enrichment programs throughout the Baltimore area.

This is an excellent opportunity for college students interested in education, engineering, computer science, mathematics, science, child development, or related fields. If you enjoy working with children and creating an engaging learning environment, we'd love to hear from you.

We are currently hiring instructors to teach either Chess or STEM programs.

Position Details

• Part-time, after-school position

• Monday through Friday

• Between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM

• 1.5-hour sessions

• $37.50 per session ($25 per hour)

• No weekends

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum and equipment provided

Responsibilities

Teach elementary students either Chess or STEM activities

• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and lesson plans

• Create a fun, safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

• Supervise groups of approximately 15 to 25 students

• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and teamwork

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership

Qualifications

• Experience playing or teaching Chess, or experience with STEM subjects, is preferred but not required

• Comfortable working with children in grades K through 5

• Reliable transportation to schools throughout the Baltimore area

• Dependable and punctual

• Must successfully complete the required school district background check and fingerprinting process
