Position Overview

Mfinite Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Cook for the New Hampshire Veterans Home. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food in accordance with approved recipes, menus, and applicable state and federal requirements.

This position also provides guidance and support to food service staff and may assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Food Service Director or Assistant Manager.

Available Shifts

• 2nd Shift: 10:30 AM - 7:15 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in required quantities according to approved recipes and menus.
• Follow established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Operate and clean food service equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Clean and sanitize food production areas after completing assigned tasks.
• Provide instruction and guidance to food service staff regarding assigned duties and proper work procedures.
• Explain work procedures and provide general direction to employees as needed.
• Assist food service employees in resolving routine work-related problems.
• Organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Supervise food service staff in the absence of the Food Service Director or Assistant Manager.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional food service environment.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalency credential required.
• Each additional year of approved formal education may substitute for one year of required work experience.

Experience

• One year of experience as a cook preparing and cooking food on a large scale required.
• Each additional year of approved work experience may substitute for one year of required formal education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of large-scale food preparation methods, materials, and practices.
• Knowledge of food safety hazards and appropriate precautionary measures.
• Knowledge of the proper care and use of food service equipment and utensils.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, menus, and special instructions.
• Ability to provide instruction, training, and guidance to food service employees.
• Ability to supervise staff and organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Professional appearance and good personal hygiene appropriate to assigned duties.
• Ability to work while standing and perform duties in environments with high temperatures and humidity.
