Our client, a leading multimodal transportation engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join their vibrant and modern Fairfax, VA office. Oversee the preparation of Traffic Impact Studies (TIS), Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plans, parking analyses, and more to support land development projects across DC, Maryland and Virginia. Conduct operational analyses using Synchro, Vissim, and HCS. Prepare clear, concise technical reports, memos, and agency submittals. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers. Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and invoicing to ensure timely, profitable delivery of high‑quality work. Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates in traffic engineering and design. Represent clients at public hearings and meetings with local jurisdictions and agencies, effectively presenting technical findings and project justifications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering 4+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. Strong fluency in Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, Sidra, Vistro, ArcGIS, and related softwares. Passion for collaboration throughout the development and execution of projects.
