Part‑Time Customer Service Representative – Brooklyn – 8 am to 8 pm, English/Spanish Location: 451 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11211, United States (available for floating to other Brooklyn stores). Salary: $17.00 per hour. Opening Hours: Sunday Closed; Monday‑Friday 9 am‑7 pm; Saturday 9 am‑3 pm. (Shift needed 8 am‑8 pm, 7 days a week, weekend availability required.) Responsibilities Identify and respond to customers’ needs. Process customer transactions, including cashing checks, money transfers, bill payments, and selling pre‑paid products. Open new customer accounts and issue cards such as the inPower debit card. Complete transactions in a timely and courteous manner. Maintain and update customer account information (photos, addresses, phone numbers, etc.). Keep working knowledge of all Pay‑O‑Matic products and services. Respond to account inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Promote Pay‑O‑Matic services by offering customers relevant information. Perform check verification in coordination with the Loss Prevention Department. Follow all cash handling procedures and maintain a safe, secure, and clean teller area. Perform routine store cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, wiping counters, and restocking supplies. Empty trash, restock restrooms, and perform opening/closing cleaning routines. Reconcile cash drawer, checks cashed, payments made, and other shift transactions. Assist with opening and closing the store when required. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications 1‑2 years of related experience or equivalent. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Professional appearance and demeanor. Effective communication skills with people of all levels and backgrounds. Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm for changing priorities. Optional: Bilingual language skills. Physical and Mental Requirements Stand for long periods. Perform calculations and amounts. Float between stores as needed. Work at least 8 hours in a confined area without leaving the store. Work alone during the shift. Perform light physical tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 lb, and operating cleaning equipment. Open and close the store when required. Handle workplace stressors such as heavy verbal demands and maintain security of customers and property. Adhere to compliance rules for banking‑related transactions. Maintain a harmonious work environment and reject hostility. Work Environment Stores are small but adequate for customer transactions. Floating to other stores within the borough or district is required. Shift duration is 6‑8 hours; overtime occasionally requested. Employees must work weekends and holidays.
