DISTRIBUTION ASSOCIATE – COVINGTON, GA

Pay Rate: $16.50/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Drug Test: Required

JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Associate is responsible for performing warehousing and material distribution tasks related to the shipment of products. The primary responsibility is hand stacking product from larger custom pallets onto 40x48 standard pallets for shipping.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process customer orders by scanning bar codes, picking cases, and labeling boxes.
• Palletize orders by scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders onto pallets.
• Process orders using RF scanning technology.
• Verify order accuracy and properly package shipments.
• Perform dock manifest duties as needed, including scanning completed pallets and operating a shrink wrapper.
• Operate the ground/manual manifest station as required.
• Hand stack product from larger custom pallets onto 40x48 standard pallets for shipping.
• Become knowledgeable in the responsibilities of other warehouse positions and provide assistance as needed.
• Provide backup coverage during employee absences or vacations.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of relevant warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment (MHE) preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Ability to obtain an electric pallet jack certification.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and use an RF scanner.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, twisting, lifting, and repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and fingers. The associate may occasionally be required to climb. Lifting over 50 pounds may be required in some areas. Associates must have a normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and sufficient hearing to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided in accordance with applicable laws.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may have moderate to loud noise levels and frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment. Associates may encounter precarious work situations and temperature fluctuations. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur.

Drug testing is required for this position.
