About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of PCU or step-down experience required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Experience in a team nursing model. - Experience with ventilated patients. - EKG tele competency assessment must be passed. - Preferred experience with IV starts and travel experience. Description: This position is for an experienced registered nurse in the PCU specialty. The unit provides care for a mixed acuity neuroscience population. The targeted patient ratios are 1:4-6. The nurse will work in a team nursing environment alongside LPNs and PCTs. The goal is to enhance patient care while managing workloads effectively. The candidate must have experience in patient care related to cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, and other neurological conditions. Floating between units may be required depending on staffing needs. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients on high-risk respiratory support and may need to float to an ICU setting. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is necessary. Candidates will be required to complete lab work and an EKG/dysrhythmia exam within a specified timeframe after acceptance of the contract. All schedule requests must be included in the application at submission; adjustments will not be allowed after the initial submission. Nurses will need to manage a variety of procedures and equipment as part of their routine care responsibilities.
