Emergency Department Technician

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.

Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.

• Technical Skills: Competent in psychomotor skills and technical procedures within scope of practice.

• Assists EDRN by preparing the patient for examination/treatment appropriate to the chief complaint and demographic/population specific criteria.

• Obtains 12-Lean EKG's when directed/ordered. Performs and documents all vital signs, special procedure set up, splinting and any other simple tasks as directed by the RN within the scope of their practice.

• Demonstrates ability to use department equipment appropriate to the level of training.

• Responds effectively in emergency situation.

• Stocks, re-stocks supplies in department, and may be asked to place orders for specialty or stationary supplies specific to the ED.

Job Requirements

Required

• Successful completion of an accredited EMT Program in California.

• Previous experience as an ER Tech or EMT.

• Emergency Medical Technician: CA

• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

• Currently licensed as an EMT by the State of California, license must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred

• Six (6) months ER Tech experience or

• Six (6) months experience working for a 911 or IFT/CCT Ambulance or Fire Service

Pay Range

$36.83 - $41.71 /hour
