Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel - Nebraska is seeking applicants for the position of Automation Technician. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing technical support for maintenance and operations.
- Maintain and improve mill wide automation, including PLC's, HMI's, Level 2 systems, drives, and industrial robots.
- Solid understanding of computer programming, software development, automation design, install, configure, and maintain field devices, instrumentation systems, communication networks and interfaces.
- Conduct training and develop standard operating procedures and working closely with operation and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvements.
- Two year degree in a related field or 3 years of equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of the rolling process and related equipment
- Proficient in PLC, HMI, and Drive software and programming
- Strong PLC, HMI, Drives, Networking and Computer troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles
