Job Description

The Family Enrichment Center (FEC) Community Liaison supports the FEC Director with day-to-day operation of the Family Enrichment Center, while building relationships with community members and organizations. The Community Liaison builds connections using a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic communication style, and ensures a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere at the FEC. This individual is committed to a community-driven approach to organizing and collaborating. The Community Liaison responsibilities also include building partnerships with stakeholders from multiple sectors, helping to develop and maintain a parent or advisory group, attending community events and local school meetings, and developing collections of resources offered to support the needs of participants.

Principle Responsibilities

• • Work collaboratively with local organizations and communityleaders;
  • Develop and nurture collaborative and effective relationships with communitystakeholders ;
  • Coordinate offerings and events around key issues of significance to thecommunity;
  • Identifyand connect with local providers that cover a wide array of services that can support referrals for FECmembers;
  • Engage community members and stakeholders in developing, implementing, andparticipatingin the Family Enrichment Centersofferings;
  • Attend Community Board meetings and other community-basedmeetings;
  • Represent and conduct outreach at community events andvenues;
  • Build partnerships with community organizations, public institutions (e.g., schools), coalitions, and others to increase engagement with these entities and leverage resources orexpertisefor FECofferings;
  • Provide opportunities for community members to foster a sense of belonging, pride, and mutualresponsibility ;
  • Create guides, toolkits, or other tools that help increase resident awareness of and ability to connect to local resources, services, and other supports.

Special Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of professional experience, or a High School Diploma and at least five (5) years of professional experience.
• Professional experience should be in community organizing, building partnerships, and/or community-led programs.
• Knowledge and experience working in theBedford StuyvesantCommunity.
• Minimumtwo (2) years of public service experience
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizationalskills ;
• Excellent communication, verbal, written and people skills are required
• Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
