Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 3 years in Labor and Delivery License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRPS Must-Have: - L&D experience - Experience with antepartum patients - Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in Labor and Delivery. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1. The average daily census is 7-10 patients. The unit includes Labor and Delivery and postpartum care in the same physical space. The facility has 11 labor rooms and 5 triage rooms. The postpartum unit has 15 rooms, with additional flex rooms available. Patient assignments are based on acuity according to staffing standards. The role involves managing both antepartum and intrapartum patients. Preferred candidates will have experience in LDRP or Labor and Delivery. Nurses may be required to float to the postpartum unit to provide couplet care. Floating may involve working with postpartum mothers or their infants. There is an obligation to work 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Additional weekend shifts may include 2 Sunday night shifts or 2 Friday day shifts. The unit supports a variety of patient diagnoses related to pregnancy. Interdisciplinary support includes various clinical teams for comprehensive patient care. Specialty equipment includes fetal monitoring applications. Candidates must be willing to comply with all required training and assessments.
