Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a supportive Montessori environment near Buffalo, MN. This full-time, on-site position spans the school year from September 8, 2026, through June 3, 2027, working weekdays from 7am to 3pm (37.5 hours per week). You'll engage with K-6th grade students, guiding small group learning in a collaborative, shared-space classroom.
Your background in special education will help you create tailored learning experiences, nurture student growth, and collaborate with fellow educators to uphold Montessori principles. As a valued professional in this W2 contract role, you’ll provide meaningful support to students while advancing your own teaching expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license or certification (Minnesota)
- Experience teaching elementary-age students, preferably in special education
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or a willingness to learn
- Strong collaborative skills for small-group and team-based instruction
- Commitment to individualized learning and inclusive education
- Effective communication with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in grades K-6
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Utilize Montessori strategies and hands-on activities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor progress and document student outcomes
- Support students’ social-emotional development
